Remember to throw the firecracker in a bucket of sand or water to prevent injury to the feet.
Wear shoes while bursting crackers. Never pick up crackers that have failed to explode, as it can cause serious hand injuries.

In case of minor burns, pour sufficient amount of water on the burned area until the burning stops completely. Never apply an agent such as toothpaste or blue ink to a burn. Remove any tightening material such as rings or bangles immediately, as the latter tends to swell making them difficult to remove.
Stop, drop, and roll over if clothing catches on fire. To expand, stop wherever you run without running, which can cause the fire to flare up. Wherever you are or lie down to avoid the fire on your face. Roll on the ground to limit the oxygen supply. In most cases this will bring the fire under control. We can also use a thick rug to cut off the wind, thus extinguishing the fire.
If there is any injury in the eye, do not rub the eye, rather wash the eye with clean water and consult an ophthalmologist.
