These recent celebrity deaths during workouts have once again brought to the limelight the link between strenuous exercise and Heart Brains,

As such, we contacted experts to find out which ones are more prone to falls while working out. “People who have abdominal obesity have a particularly high risk of falling. We label them as patients with metabolic syndrome. If someone has BMI Those over 25-27, suffer from comorbid conditions like diabetes and high cholesterol levels, have previous heart disease, are a chronic smoker and alcoholic, or are drug addicts – they are at greater risk,” says Dr Shrey Srivastava , Internal Medicine, Sharda Hospital said.

Agreed, Dr. Subhendu Mohanty, Cardiologist, Sharda Hospital said, “Those who smokeAre not used to exercise but suddenly start doing strenuous workouts, and those with pre-existing conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure etc. are at risk”

Dr Vivek Sharma, Associate Consultant, Head – Preventive Cardiology, Fortis Hospital, Greater Noida said that people above 40 years of age are more prone to falls while working out as they lead a sedentary lifestyle, “The 40+ section has a very sedentary lifestyle. Mostly, they work late nights, have improper dietary habits, and smoke regularly. Furthermore, he explained that when someone wants to lose weight very quickly, they start exercising in the gym. “Because of that, there is a sudden decrease in blood flow Brain, This is called cardiac arrest. In such a situation, a gym goer can go into a coma.”

Dr Sharma highlighted the need for regular health check-ups. “It can happen in a young person who hasn’t been regular the inspection, Some people join gym and after few days attack comes. This is because their tolerance is low. Lack of knowledge of gym instructors also contributes to the same. In India, we spend very little on our health and do not get regular health check-ups. In some cases, we found that the patient had a bad heart and joined gym to get fit. But, because of reduced cardiac function, they collapse and suddenly die of cardiac arrest.”

How to escape?

Dr. Srivastava listed the following measures that should be kept in mind.

*It is important to understand that there is no shortcut to this Wait event.

* Do not follow the tips of social media but follow the proper guidelines given by the gym instructor while exercising.

* Lose weight through proper exercise for a long duration. “You shouldn’t lose more than 10 percent of your total weight in a month,” he said.

*Follow an adequate diet.

Dr CH Praveen (MBBS, DNB) Consultant, Cardiovascular Surgeon, Omni Hospital, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh said that doing gym is good to keep your body healthy but don’t push yourself beyond a limit. “Don’t go beyond your heart’s capacity,” he said.

The specialist said, “To prevent life-threatening arrhythmias that cause sudden cardiac arrest, one should hydrate oneself intermittently. Very expensive oxygenated water is not needed. Plain ORS will do as well. Imminent cardiac arrhythmias Indirect evidence of this is muscle spasms that are usually the result of hypokalemia (low potassium).
