“It’s a rainbow of foods on a platter, and looks really healthy and clean. But how we mix these, as well as ‘who’ has it and ‘what purpose’ is important,” says Right Living founder and Director, Certified Nutritionist and Food Coach Anupama Menon.

He listed some combinations that could be made from the list, based on nutritional needs

Combination 1

For someone who has just started the health journey and has a lot of fat to lose:

* Mix berries and Greek yogurt together with bananas as a breakfast option, or just berries, banana, and a dash of honey for a mid-meal option. Why? “Your body needs to digest different food groups efficiently, so minimize combinations and avoid combining too many foods at once. Greek yogurt provides breakfast protein, and the much-desired slow-burning carbs and antioxidants.” For a mid-meal, smoothie can really ease the hunger pangs that usually occur in the mid-evening,” explains Menon indianexpress.com,

Combination 2

For someone who is in the middle of their fitness journey, and has already lost weight

A teaspoon of pumpkin seeds, known for their good fats and ability to combat sugar cravings, with 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt, which provides protein, makes a nutritious combination. Another good option can be berries drizzled with 1.5 tsp raw honey. “You’ve got antioxidants and honey to cut down on the sourness, to lend a tingling sweet-sour sensation. Perfect afternoon snack!” suggests Menon.

Combination 3

For someone who has achieved her health goals but needs to continue sticking to a healthy routine and make exciting combinations to keep her going –

Take 1/2 cup jamun, curd, 2 teaspoon almond powder, 1 teaspoon cashew powder and mix them well. before exercise breakfast. Another combination might be two teaspoons almond powder, two teaspoons pumpkin powder, and 1.5 teaspoons raw honey in a glass of warm organic milk for a post-workout or even late-night drink.

Combination 4

For someone at this stage of their journey, it would be beneficial to mix Jamun with curd, and also a teaspoon each of all the nuts/seeds. “Berry smoothie with 1 teaspoon chia seeds along with berries, yogurt, seeds, and nut powder would make a great breakfast. It can be accompanied by a slice of whole wheat toast and a egg, Super powerful breakfast to start your day!” shared Menon.

According to Menon, the above ingredients contain “amazing nutrients, fats and some amount of protein” that your body needs. “They also have antioxidants to protect their body. But it’s important to combine them in the right way! Never overdo the combinations. The right combination helps your body absorb food and use nutrients for specific body functions. Will help translate more effectively,” Menon said.
