An exhibition stall of hand-woven yoga and meditation mats made by dyeing threads in a mixture of seven herbs has started attracting visitors.
The exhibition is organized by the Industries and Commerce Department of Kerala, B2B Meet is a targeted campaign to tap the national market for a wide range of products of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

At the exhibition meeting, several buyers from across the country showed keen interest in a tie-up and to know more about the effort of Ayurveda Textiles Pvt Ltd, which is based in Balaramapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, and who has come up with this initiative .
“There has been a demand for bedsheets and other products, but inquiries are being made for Ayurvedic yoga mats from abroad in the recent past,” said MP Adarsh, Ayurved Textiles Pvt Ltd.
“Considering their medicinal benefits, various handloom-made Ayurvedic fabrics, including baby wear, bedsheets, pillow covers and towels, are popular in European countries. We manufacture yoga mats and Ayurvedic herbal blends in countries such as Austria, Denmark We are exporting the dress material to be dyed in America, Holland and Brazil,” said Adarsh.
According to him, they get these herbs from Kottur in Thiruvananthapuram district.
Adarsh told that three types of turmeric are used to make yellow color apart from basil, walnut and mango tree leaves to get some other colors for clothes including khadi, linen and handloom.
